2020 final report

Its been 6 weeks or so since the 2020 Summit and I'm still being asked about it. After all the work and life since it is fadig a bit but I still have a apositive feeling about it and a strong sense that the momentum should be captured.

The final report was released yesterday  - right on schedule. It's big.

It reports the 2 days pretty much as I remember them, and it is interesting to see the conversations that happened in groups other than the ones I was in. It is odd seeing the passionate conversations and different voices reported as stocato sentences on a page. But I feel the group voice comes through and, for my part, it is an accurate record.

In the Familites and Communities report Technology is mentioned a couple of times, and online communities also mentioned.  I recognise some of my own words there (though I am sure I didn't say Technological). Social innovation and capacity building were mentioned a few times and I can recognise the voices there too.

For the most part it is stating and restating the obvious, motherhood statements and broad concepts. Most of this is the converstation that resulted in ideas. The ideas are good, if not well articulated and there is a lot to work with.

Lost of mention of Social Inclusion as a First Order Issue. Tim Costello's words for the most part I expect.

I'm looking forward to reading the other groups, particularly the Economy group (wrt broadband), health - because they seemed to have a lot of creative ideas, and Governance.
